Jon Sundbo, from center for Experience and Tourism Research, has during 2015 and 2016 been involved in a development project on the island Lolland in collaboration with the company Innoplan and Fælleskøkkenet. Fælleskøkkenet produces and delivers food for various institutions in Lolland and Guldborgsund municipalities as well as in Region Zealand.
The development project aimed to develop a prototype of experience based local meals from kitchens of public institutions. The concept involves using local food products in the production of meals and to create stories about these products. Another aim is to educate the employees about the experience elements of local food products. Until now Innoplan has collaborated with Fælleskøkkenet and the researchers to develop a prototype. It is now the aim to apply for public and private funding for the project to further develop and spread the concept to other public insitutions.
